About This Site

Here at The Open Enterprise we track the changes taking place in enterprise computing -- particularly around platform interoperability and open standards. The norm is, and will continue to be, a mix of Windows, Unix and Linux, along with Mainframe and Mac -- depending on the needs of the customer.  Most CIOs, senior managers and technical directors want to see intelligent commentary on current issues and alliances and aren't all that interested in religious battles.  They've got work to do and problems to solve and will make their platform choices based on what works best for their organizations.
